The Department of Social Work at Seton Hall University is hiring a one-year, full time contract faculty member who will teach essential courses in Public Administration and perform recruitment activities for the MPA program.
The faculty member might teach various courses in public policy, health and education policy, budgeting and finance, human resources, big data, sustainability, research methods, and specialized electives. Ideal candidates will bring innovative approaches to public administration as it intersects with sustainability, resilient communities, and climate change; democracy and media; immigration and demographics; big data and AI; social and economic movements; education and health policy; or other pressing areas of interest for public organizations, institutions, and governments. We are looking for candidates with transformational approaches to teaching and a commitment to improving communities. We are also looking for candidates who can leverage synergies with our undergraduate and graduate programs in Social Work and/or teach in our undergraduate program in nonprofit studies. Duties and Responsibilities:
Contract faculty member will teach essential courses in the MPA program, based on their area of specialization. The ordinary teaching load for contract faculty is 24 credits per academic year (12 credits per semester). Expertise in nonprofit management and experiential education is highly desirable. The selected candidate will support the University's commitment to grow enrollments and ensure the academic vibrancy of the successful Public Administration program.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated teaching excellence
- Graduate degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Public Administration
- Demonstrated scholarly publications and presentations in Public Administration
Desired Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Public Administration, Non-profit management, Public Policy, or related field strongly preferred
