JOB SUMMARY:
The College of Human Development, Culture, and Media seeks Student Assistant - WSOU Community Programming Producers to assist for 2024-2025 academic year.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assistance with recording and editing community programs, staff the on-air studio during community programming hours, assist faculty and community programming volunteers in the production of their shows, ensure all necessary FCC regulations and university policies are followed by community programmers, fill out daily transmitter and program logs, and other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MUST be WSOU Staff with clearance and authorization to use WSOU's studio equipment, and at least six months of experience operating an audio board at WSOU, at least six months of experience editing audio using digital software, at least six months of experience recording interviews and directing hosts, knowledge of FCC rules and regulations, and experience working with diverse constituencies.
Must have early morning weekend availability.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience using ProTools and/or Adobe Audition, knowledge of university policies governing WSOU programming, and an interest in public affairs and community-focused media.
